MANAGER'S NOTES:

NEW Website - a little later than I had hoped but the new WWCC Website is now up and running. I hope you find it to be more modern and useful for your needs. Everything that used to be there still is and more. If you have some ideas or information that would be a good addition to the site. please let me know. It will be updated regularly so bookmark it today: http://www.whitewatercountryclub.com/

2008 Memberships- Memberships continue to trickle in and most of last year's crew has returned. If you haven't gotten your membership and dues in yet, please be reminded that you officially have 60 days from the Annual meeting (Apr. 27) before your membership certificates are cancelled. All returning memberships must be turned in by June 27. Members may not use the Clubhouse or Course until a dues payment arrangement has been made. If you need another copy (or one for a friend) you can call/email the Club or click on the following link and print a copy out: 2008 Membership Application, Rules & Restrictions (PDF file). Remember if you recruit a NEW Owner Member both you AND the new member gets a 25% discount off your Dues for this year - great incentive to get others on board!

Annual Meeting - The annual meeting was held Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 pm. The short meeting discussed 2007 financials, Class B stock ideas, competed and upcoming smaller projects/upgrades and committee reports. In the Board election, Crystal Singer remained on the Board and Duane Schuab took over for the spot left by Jim Miller. Thanks to Jim for his many years of service and hard work! Following the meeting the Board met to decide officers. Crystal Singer and Dean Fischer swapped spots with Crystal taking over as President and Dean taking on the Secretary position. Doc Hornickel remained as V.P. and Chris Turner continues his role as Treasurer.

New Bartenders- Please help me welcome to new bartenders to the Club staff. Andy Richard (Hazel Green, WI - UW-W student) joined us 3 weeks ago and is already doing a great job. The other is hard to call "new." Ryan VanLanduyt will be re-joining the staff in a new role. Ryan started with the Club about 5 years ago as a dishwasher and gradually moved up in the Kitchen to Asst. Chef for Brittney and then assumed the role of the Head Chef in the transition period before Keith took over. Ryan is transferring back from UW-Superior to UW-W and will begin his bartender job next weekend. Please introduce yourself and welcome these two fine gentlemen.

Comments, Complaints and Compliments - Have a suggestion or idea, or just want to tell someone thanks?.. The Board of Directors is always looking for member involvement in the goings-on at WWCC. In addition to passing things onto me and the forms in my office that you have always been able to fill out, we have now added another contact point. On the new website their is an email link that when completed will be sent to all 6 current Board members. You can find this link from the home page by clicking on the "Contact Us" link and then the Board Email at the bottom. You was also find individual contact info there.

Bag Tags & Punch Cards - All memberships receive either a 2008 bag-tag or punch-card. Those are available beginning on Wednesday or the first time you come out to play. ALL golfers should check in at the Clubhouse EVERY time prior to playing. Specialty members should pick up a fluorescent guest tag each time and have their cards punched and owner members should sign in the "green book" next to the scorecards. If you begin play before 8AM when the Clubhouse opens, please stop in after.

New Outings Added - Board Member Dennis Wagie has taken over the leadership role for WWCC Activities Committee. He has plans to add 3 events to the schedule. Brief details are provided here but more info will be given as plans are solidified... June 28th "Two-Ball, Best Ball" (4 people w/ handicaps; teams picked that day; lowest 2 balls against par; 1PM shotgun)... August 23rd "Criers & Whiners" (4 person teams; handicaps as mulligans; teams picked day of; 1PM shotgun)... DATE - TBD "Men's & Women's Club Championship" (no additional info at this time - trying to bring back an old annual event). If you are interested in getting involved with these and other events, please contact Dennis (920.563.5796... dwagie@charter.net) as he is looking for Activities Committee Members and also workers for events. Thanks!

Days Gone By

Now that the weather has finally taken a turn for the better golf has been restored at WWCC. In addition a number of events in the Clubhouse have gotten the season in full swing. Our first gathering came on a sad note unfortunately. Rod Dalee and his family celebrated the life of his mother after her passing in mid-April. Our warmest wishes were passed to Rod and his family at his event on April 18th. The Women kicked off their golf season with the Spring Banquet on April 22nd. Golden State Foods continues to be a great customer holding another luncheon on the 23rd. The UW-Whitewater Pi Omega Pi chapter (headed up by our own Marcia James) held their annual Banquet on May 4th and enjoyed a wonderful dinner as did the Whitewater Federation of Women's Groups on the next night. The Women's league began play this week on Tuesday and enjoyed the best weather-wise day of the year thus far. Rotary International of Whitewater continues their weekly lunch meetings at the Club. Many of these individuals are already members and we're always hoping more will get involved.

Days To Come

May continues to bustle with activity on the course and in the Clubhouse. Dates are filling fast so if you have a party or event in mind, please contact the Club to book the day ASAP. If food will be part of your event, please know that the new website has available menus provided by Keith for you to look at. You can access those menus from the home page by either clicking on the "Downloads" link or by going through the "Dinning & Banquet" page.

THANK YOU's

As always, there are a number of thank you's to go out to members for their contributions... If you are a breakfast "attendee" (and if you aren't you should be!) you may have noticed the new coffee mugs. These were donated by Sandy & Ron Troemel. Thanks to Jerry Hartman for his monthly entertainment on Friday nights. Thank you to Crystal Singer & Whitewater Manufacturing and Rick Hartman & Rick's Eastsider for sponsoring the bag tags again this year. As the new putting green gets closer to its "opening day," Barb Underwood has asked the following letter to be included here:

I would like to thank the following members for their generous support for the new putting green: Rodger Kuhnke, Jim Miller, Duane Schaub, Jim & Kathy Pieper, Jon Erickson, Bill & Diana Thomas, Dan & Connie Hornickel, Tom & Nancy DuVal, Mike Mikkelsen, Bob & Diane Schwab, Dennis Wagie, Nick & Janet Lesar, Mike Frawley, Chris & Bridgette Turner, Gerald & Connie Murray, Rick Norman and Ron & Marilyn Binning.

Bob was a LONG time member and loved this course even when we lived in Milwaukee! I know he would approve of this project. We all need to improve our putting!... Thanks Again! - Barb Underwood.
